W Japonii film jest rozpoznawany pod tytułem Gojira tai Mekagojira. W Ameryce film nosi tytuł Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla II, a w Polsce jest znany pod tytułem japońskim Godzilla kontra Mechagodzilla. Jednakże powszechnie na świecie film ten jest nazywany Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla II aby go odróżnić od filmu Terroru Mechagodzilli (jap. ゴジラ対メカゴジラ Gojira tai Mekagojira; ang. Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla), który powstał w 1974 roku, gdyż oba filmy nie są ze sobą powiązane pod względem fabuły.

Godzilla protiv Mechagodzille (ゴジラ対メカゴジラ, Gojira Tai Mekagojira?) je japanski science fiction film snimljen 1974. godine u režiji Juna Fukude. Predstavlja četrnaesti po redu film iz ciklusa o čudovištu Godzilli. Radnja prikazuje kako Japan počinje napadati mehaničko čudovište nalik na Godzillu zvano Mechagodzilla, kako i da nekoliko novinara otkriju kako iza svega stoje vanzemaljci prerušeni u ljude koji nastoje osvojiti svijet, te da Godzilla može zaustaviti Mechagodzillu jedino ako se udruži sa mitskim stvorenjem iz okinavskih legendi zvanim King Caesar. Godzilla protiv Mechagodzille je predstavljao jedan od dotada najskupljih filmova iz serije.
